February 2005

28-Feb-2004 12:20p - Photos are up!

Well just the first gallery anyway :-). But now that i've got it all sorted out, it shouldnt take long to put up a number of galleries.. go check out my baby photos.

Had an interesting weekend. Saw tim on saturday - that was interesting!

On sunday went and played a couple of sets of tennis with Heath.. he was cool and calm in the first set, and in the second set he started getting the shits as I was winning constantly ;-). Hey heath if you are reading this! :-)

Watched Cube Zero (aka Cube 3) which was weird and different as all Cube movies are.. and still doesnt explain much. Also saw Phonebooth which I recommend.. very cool movie although I think Julian thought it was boring.

25-Feb-2004 12:00p - Hooray for Zoidberg!

I have almost finished watching every single episode of Futurama now hehe... gotta love that show, especially Zoidberg!

Tim has moved to Sydney and is now going to uni, and about to move into his permanent place this weekend - hooray!

Tim, Jules and I all went and watched the filming of The New Inventors on friday at the ABC Ultimo studios. There are lots of shots of the back of my head :-). Julian got interrogated by James O'Lauchlin off air - very funny.. out of all people Julian was picked first haha! I should be in the audience (right at the back row) Wed 2nd, and Wed 16th March when both episodes air.

Watched Cube 2 Hypercube on Sunday with Jules while Ben slept on the couch. The movie was quite weird, but hey.. thats the cube series. Going to watch Cube 3 this weekend.

Saw Tim on Wednesday.. went over to the place he is staying at in Cremorne. We had thai, and went down to eat it at the water... then got back just in time as it was getting dark (otherwise we would have had to go through a whole lot of bushwalking track in complete darkness!). We hung out on the outside lounge on their huge balcony afterwards - very comfy!

Had a huge jog on the weekend.. went all the way to birkenhead point from my place next to darling harbour.. wow, never thought I could make it that far and back.. took me an hour.

I have created the webpages for the photo section now, but still havent selected the photos I will be putting up here..

And thats all for today! byeeee!

14-Feb-2004 5:05p - Photos almost ready..

Yes, its taking much longer than I expected. I have finally "cut out" all the photos from the scans I had.

At first this just started out as scanning a few photos for the website, but ended up turning into a make-a-digital-copy-of-everything mission. Everything is now scanned and cut into individual photos, but they still have to be sorted somehow.. and finally a few selected ones put up on the website!

Hopefully that will be done before the end of Feb (even though I previously said before the end of Jan :P)

What did I do on the weekend? Hmm... well it felt like a weekend full of stuff, but thinking back I didnt really do much. I hung out with Andrew M from uni for the first time in years. Watched some Futurama, played some tetris attack, saw the movie Team America, cooked a HUGE batch of vegetable curry (yummm). And thats about it!

I went for a jog on friday.. and it was a very big one.. I remember leaving my place at 12:30 or something like that (AM!!), and getting back at 2am. Didnt realise how big it was... but its Monday now and my legs are still slightly hurting.

Bought myself yet another flashy thing - a ring this time.. cant wait to go raving again.

Thats all for now. See ya!

9-Feb-2004 8:35a - Mmmm BBQ

Went to pete's BBQ on Sunday. Lots of yummy food - I ate way too much and have been doing lots of exercise since :-). Quite a few guys from work turned up, and it was a very sunny day so some of us got in the pool... I ended up a bit sunburnt because I forgot to put sunscreen on my face.. doh!

Pete's brother in law challenged me to a game of Tetris Attack. Little did he know i've been playing tetris attack like crazy with Julian, and I am a tetris attack master. Needless to say I was undefeated ;-)

Was going to go to Hyperspeed on saturday, but when I found out that the party was on at Penrith, me and Jules just thought "bugger it" and watched some episodes of Futurama instead :-). Thats the last time i'm going to go to an overdrive party. I should have learnt my lesson from the last time I trekked to penrith, and the time before that when I didnt go because it was too far. Hmmm..

Met up with Andrew M on the weekend. First time i've seen him in about 2 years! I really have to start catching up with some uni friends...

It was Kate's birthday drinks on saturday (happy birthday kate!). Went to Opera Bar with them to celebrate. We saw Bob Downe, but unfortunately Julian hadnt turned up... damn.. where is Jules when you need to pay him out! ;-)

I finally dusted off the rollerblades on Friday night (yes, my weblog has no concept of chronological order), and bladed down to the toilet stench of Circular Quay. Man they need to fix those leaking sewerage pipes! It was my first Friday night skate in about a year, and quite a few people turned up... around 30 or more. We did about 2 hours around the city, and discovered the Mardi Gras launch party in Hyde Park on the way back. Lots of music in the middle of the night in Hyde Park - first time i've seen that. Also saw a couple of guys who havent been skating in years because of the infamous Anzac Bridge Incident (ouch!).

Was thinking on monday - what else can I do to make a little bit extra cash? Couldnt think of anything, but on monday night I got a phonecall which would provide the answer! I have been asked by AC Nielson to install a barcode scanner in my home. All I have to do is scan the products I buy and enter the price, and i'll get free rewards all year! Not bad.. always looking out for some easy money!

Tim comes up to live in Sydney on Sunday.. I cant wait! :-).

1-Feb-2004 5:05p - Back at work after a week of chilling out

Thats right folks - I'm back at work, and its VERY quiet this week. Lawrence has left work, and so has Monzur. Shannon is on holidays, which means that noone is sitting anywhere near me anymore!

I spent last week doing a lot of sleeping and hanging out with friends. I wish I hadnt chosen such a hot, wet and humid week to take a break though. The last week I took off was rainy all week... thats Ray luck for ya :-)

I recently bought a book. Yes you heard right. Its not often I read fiction books, I usually stick to news and non-fiction - the last book I read was Lord of the Rings, and before that... well lets just say you have to go back many years - to the HSC in fact when I was forced to read fiction books.

This time around the book is The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I am two thirds of the way through it and it is awesome. Its kind of like an Indiana Jones story with a much more religious backdrop. Dont let that scare you though - its a great book and highly recommended. I even bought another book about The Da Vinci Code which attempts to seperate fact from fiction, and give more details of what philosophers and historians actually think happened - and whether the present day myths are true.

Also found out last week that Tim H got into his course at Nth Sydney. HOORAY! That means he'll be moving up to Sydney from Bomaderry within 2 weeks time - awesome. Spent a couple of days last week hanging out with Tim - eating pizza, watching Haunted Castle 3D, playing Bubble Bobble...

My phone stopped charging last week, so I thought that its finally time to give up on it and get a new phone. I ended up buying a Sagem (noone has heard of it) phone for $170 from Vodafone which includes a camera, MMS, and all the extra bits and pieces plus 30 bux credit with Vodafone. Not bad!. I have just switched my phone number over from Virgin to Vodafone, but they are stuffing it up, so at the moment my phone messages and calls go into limbo land where I cannot retrieve them (the Virgin sim card is no longer working).

Last week I had my first Mystery Shopper assignment. I had to go to 3 bars and ask for a particular drink, make sure they served it correctly and then scout out the place for any type of advertisements about the drink. Only one bar knew what it was, and the others had no idea. I felt a bit weird ordering a drink by myself in a bar though.. dont think i'll do that again any time soon!

I didnt end up getting that bike i've been wanting to buy, but I bought some cheap tshirts at Paddys Markets ;-). $10 for large plain coloured tshirts... cant beat that.. exactly what I like - no stupid labels, and the large sizes that are hard to find, and all for $10 each! Thank you China (or wherever they came from).

Lots more has been happening, but I've spent too much time writing this log, so briefly.. Bens broken up with Carmen. Julian has moved into a new place. Bens parents (and ben) are thinking of moving into the same building as Julian. Matt M is going to the US. I beat Heath at tennis for the 3rd time in a row ;-). Kwame got some revenge in Halo 2 :-). I heard from Andrew M for the first time in years. And finally its Jenny's birthday today (happy bday!)

There you go. Enough said for today.
