December 2004

28-Dec-2004 1:52p - Merry Xmas and a Glowing New Year

Hope you all had a nice christmas. All the best for 2005!

I have eaten SO MUCH chocolate and junk over the last few days.. its out of control!

Oh yeah got to play starcraft with brian, pete, shannon and billy on christmas eve (it was a half day at work). We went down to the internet cafe and brian kicked all our arses in one go.. man I though pete would have been able to hold him off, but brian is ever better than pete! What hope do I have??

Went to mums place on Xmas eve, and stayed for Xmas day. Ate lots and lots of food, got some money for new shoes and got a shirt, chocolates, a mini-tool set (finally some of those really small screwdrivers you always need..), a mug and some other bits and pieces.

Bought some new clothes on boxing day.. went to paddys markets and they had some cheap nice shorts, and $10 tshirts which looked nice.. and got myself a necklace.

Oh yeah.. "a glowing new year".. what is that all about? Well I went a bit crazy. Last time I went to a rave I said to Julian that one day i'm going to buy heaps and heaps of glowing stuff and just totally light up and glow at a rave.. I have wanted to do it for ages, but never been bothered (and all the glow stuff is really expensive). But... I went on ebay and found you can get lots of glowing stuff at wholesale prices if you buy in bulk.. SO..... I went crazy and bought 400 (no typo there!) glow rings!!!!!! Half of them are necklace size, and the other half are wrist size. Then I went and bought a flashing alien tshirt that they had at a convenience store in the city - it looks pretty cool.. flashes in 5 different flash modes ;-). So hopefully all the glow stuff will arrive before NYE and I will LIGHT UP LIGHT A CHRISTMAS TREE on new years eve :-). Its gonna be funny.. I will have to take photos for this site.

Speaking of photos, yes I said I would upload some to my photos section ages ago.. but I still havent done it. However I have this week off so hopefully I should do it this week! yeah! I have scanned around 95% of all the photos I wanted to scan.. should take me a couple of hours to scan and fix up the last photos, then I can start choosing the ones I want to put online (I only have a crappy 10mb webspace limit). And then finally I will have the photos section up and running! I intend to put up new photos all the time once its done.

Well thats it, probably for this year. I am looking forward to Utopia Harbourside NYE this year.. tickets were $100, not to mention all the glow stuff! hehehe.. it should be fun.

Happy New Year to you all!

21-Dec-2004 1:40p - Christmas time

Well its been a while since I last posted an entry here. In that time much has happened!

Let me see.. lets go back to the weekend before last. Alex came over and hung out and helped me get through a tough level on Halo on the xbox. It was difficult enough doing it with 2 players.. I can only imagine how difficult it would have been by myself!

Played tennis with Heath on that weekend, and we played 2 sets. He won the first and I came back to win the second! Still reigning champion ;-). On the way home had a bite to eat and saw someone buy a "chip kebab".. a kebab roll without meat, but with chips instead. Interesting..

Hmm.. thats all I remeber from that weekend.. I need to update this log quicker so I dont forget everything!
Went jogging on tuesday night for an hour quite fast, and on friday my legs were still sore from it!

Anyway, the weekend that just passed was lots of fun. After talking to Tim H all week, he came around on Friday and we hung out around darling harbour for a bit - and saw the "Pyrmont Bridge controller" dude have a power trip opening and closing the pyrmont bridge :-). And i'm sure there was a dead bird underneath the Darling Harbour Xmas Tree! We had some chinese too.. but I ate too much. And then watched Dodgeball on xbox.

On saturday, went to a rave - it was a free one.. called on the night to find out where it was and it was at a warehouse at Mascot. Went there with Julian and had heaps of fun.. was quite a good setup, and there were lots of people, and it was a pretty large venue, but Julian couldnt handle the fast beats so he ended up perving most of the night hahaha ;-)

And finally on Sunday Tim H came around again for a bit and missed his train and had to wait 2 hours until the next one.. and we JUST made it to the station in time for him to catch the later train (phew!)

I've got my tickets for NYE now.. going to go to Utopia Harbourside. The tickets were meant to be $88 + bf ($95).. but the guy at the shop was charging $100... bastard! Had no choice, so got two (me and jules).

Went to my mums last night and she cooked up a BBQ with chicken skewers.. yumm.. Going to go back for Xmas at the end of the week. Work xmas party is coming up.. should be interesting (especially since last year lots of people got drunk and were singing at the karaoke machine!)

Gonna have a week off next week.. cant wait... but until then.. its bye for now!

9-Dec-2004 11:50p - Put my shoes on and walk home

Went rollerblading last night, after it rained last week and the xmas rollerblade was postponed. Last night was kind of crap as well.. the clouds were constantly spitting little bits just to threaten us all night.

Eventually it sprinkled enough to create a wet surface, and since I didnt bring my wrist guards or any kind of protection I decided not to risk the slippery ground and walk home instead. Lucky I had my shoes in my backpack.

Did you know you can print off "Unlimited Large Pizza for $5.95 each" dominos dockets that you can use for pick-up only from www.hotdockets.com.au? Well now you do!

6-Dec-2004 1:20p - I met Neil Armstrong

Spent the weekend playing computer games way too much.

Played Halo campaign on my xbox, then had a Halo-athon at Kwames places and got my butt kicked 3 times (only by 1 point for 2 of them!). Also played FarCry on my PC for hours and hours.. what a great game - but its starting to get a bit scary now.. damn I'm a chicken. And just to top it off, played hours of Tetris Attack with Julian. Today (monday) I am still shifting blocks in my head.. like a bad Billy Ray Cyrus song - IT WONT GO AWAY!

So how did I meet Neil Armstrong? Well I was sitting down on 'the stools' with Julian last night just minding our own businesses.. he was on the phone, I was just having coffee bumming around.. and Harly Man - a regular homeless guy (at least I think he is) who used to always read a Harley magazine - sits close to me and asks me for money. Anyway I end up asking his name and he says Neil Armstrong. Then he proceeded to tell me about his adventure to the Moon, and how he needed to go because someone had to work out if you could breath up there. He said that the moon is pretty bright from earth, so imagine how bright it was for him on the moon!! :-). "You need more than ray-bans up there" he says. After debating with me that the Moon was indeed a planet (ie. not a moon), he then went on his merry way searching for the 50c he was wanting.

On saturday night I was walking past town hall after getting some food, and there was a fancy dress party inside the hall. Everyone was turning up with King, Queen, Knight etc.. costumes and whenever someone from the party went up the town hall stairs, two guys blowing bugles would sound a really loud tune. Was very funny and eventually the place was surrounded by tourists taking photos - everyone on the buses going past was looking at all the commotion, and laughing when the bugle boys started bugling (its a word now).

3-Dec-2004 1:15p - Nutri-Ray

Man, i'm finding heaps of weird things lately...

3-Dec-2004 10:23a - Heres something I prepared earlier

I was just about to eat my toast today, and look what I discovered! Lucky I kept it for you to see...

2-Dec-2004 12:00p - The timing of the rains

Was about to go rollerblading last night - was such a warm and sunny day, but 10 minutes before I was about to leave it rained. It was only for 5 minutes, but enough to make the ground wet and unrollerbladable! DAMN!!

At least its been sunnier lately. Did the usual stuff on the weekend and had some yummy thai noodles. mmmm.. thai noodles... Havent been for a jog in a while, i'm dying to go now that my toe is better. If only it would stop raining on the nights I have free!

Why do all my paragraphs end with an exclamation point!

I played FarCry for the first time last night. I have only seen it run on other peoples computers but tried it out for the first time on mine. My computer struggled with the graphics, so I had to turn everything down to low and it worked fine. Its a pretty cool game.. lots of fun, and much more realistic that the usual first person shooter. The AI is really cool. I played original Halo on my xbox on the weekend too.. a couple of friends have Halo 2, but I need to brush up on my Halo skills so I dont get my ass whooped when I play them in Halo 2.

Had yum-cha for lunch yesterday with the guys from work and Andrew D. Yummmm.... no wonder is called Yum cha. And it was at the restaurant with my favourite name "Fook Yuen". :-). Thats almost as good as "Hung Long" in Ashfield.

Last week Brian from work bought shares in CUE, and they went up $7000 during the first day he bought them! We were all telling him to sell, but instead he went double up (crazy fool!). The next day he lost $9000 and was looking at a $2000 net loss, but luckily for him they went back up a bit and he sold them and ended up with a $1000 gain. Brian, what a funny guy. Welcome to the stockmarket.
